Party and corporate entertainment ideas

I'm Macshane, a freestyle rap comedian, MC and quiz host based in Perth. I build the entertainment live out of whatever the room gives me: your team, your year, your in-jokes and the words people shout out. Nothing is pre-written, so it only ever happens once, and it is only ever about you.

What I can do at your event

Pick whichever suits the night. Plenty of events use more than one, and I'm happy to build a combination around your run sheet.

MC and host

I run the whole event. Welcomes, transitions, awards, keeping it to time, and filling the gaps when something runs late, with freestyle about the winners as they come off stage.

Full event

Roving entertainment

Freestyle to guests as they arrive or mingle, table to table or around the room. Great for arrivals, canapes and getting a room talking early.

Flexible

Spot performance

A short set dropped into the night, built from audience suggestions on the spot.

15 to 20 minutes

Headline show

The main event. A full freestyle comedy set made entirely from what the audience gives me.

20 to 45 minutes

Hosted quiz night

I write and host the quiz, keep the rounds moving, run the scoring and entertain between them. Works as a whole event or inside a bigger one.

Full event or a segment

Bespoke segment

Built from your brand, your conference theme, your product or the year your team has had. Send me the material and I'll build the moment around it.

Made to fit

Whose Rhyme, the duo show

With Daniel Delby, my Britain's Got Talent partner. Improvised comedy and freestyle rap, two performers, more range and more back and forth.

10 minutes to a full hour

Flowstate Freestyle Band

Live band improvising music underneath the freestyle in real time. For larger events, live music programming and anything with a stage worth filling.

How it works

The audience gives me the raw material and I turn it into rap on the spot. Words shouted out, objects held up, names, departments, whatever is written on a card and handed to me. That is the whole act, and it's why the room stays with it: they can see it could not have been prepared.

To tailor it further, send me anything you want woven in. Names, roles, running in-jokes, the big wins of the year, the project everyone complained about, your products, your values, the boss's terrible golf swing. The more I have, the more of the night belongs to your people specifically.

What I supply

Full setup for audiences up to 150. Backline, microphones, speakers and music playback, all brought and run by me. You need a power point and a space to work in.

Larger rooms and venues with their own system. I'll work with your venue or your AV supplier and plug into what's already there. A full technical rider comes with the booking so your venue knows exactly what's needed.

Public liability insurance and an ABN, both provided on request, which most venues and every procurement process will ask for.

Occasions I get booked for most

Christmas party entertainment

A Christmas party is the easiest room I work, because everyone already knows each other and the year has handed me the material. The set gets built out of your team's own twelve months: the wins, the running jokes, the project that dragged on, the person who replies to all. Works as roving on arrival, a spot after dinner, or the whole night as MC.

Team building and staff culture days

Team building nobody has to be talked into, because there is no trust exercise and nothing to role play. The room feeds me the material and then watches its own in-jokes come back as rap, which tends to do more for a team than a workshop does. Good as the whole session or as the thing that opens one.

After dinner entertainment

The traditional after dinner slot, done as freestyle instead of a speech. Fifteen to twenty minutes built live off the tables once the plates have gone, with no slides and nothing pre-written. It is the moment a room that has been seated for two hours gets picked back up.

Charity events and fundraisers

I perform at charity galas and fundraisers, including the WA Bushfire Charity Gala at the Regal Theatre. Freestyle suits a fundraising night because it can be aimed at the cause, the donors in the room and the people who put the night together, and because an auction needs the energy held up between lots.

Everything else

Mid-year functions, awards nights, gala dinners, conferences, product launches, brand activations, staff days, team celebrations, quiz nights, festivals, council and community events, mine sites, schools and private parties.

Perth and all of Western Australia, including the Pilbara, Goldfields, Mid West, South West and Kimberley. Also available interstate and internationally, and travel is quoted with the booking.

Why book me

I'm a Britain's Got Talent 2026 semi-finalist and a TEDx speaker, with more than a decade on stage. Simon Cowell called it "the fastest freestyle rap I have ever seen in my life."

I've performed for BHP, Rio Tinto, Mineral Resources, Roy Hill, Robert Walters, KnightCorp, AutoLeague, the City of Perth, the City of Stirling, the City of Karratha and Fitstop, at everything from a Superbowl themed awards night to a mine site mess hall.

"Stian's ability on the mic was exceptional, leaving the team in awe of his skills and roaring with laughter. He effectively incorporated our company's values and culture into the event. We highly recommend him for any event requiring a professional and dynamic MC or performer."
Melissa O'Brien, KnightCorp
"He matched the brief perfectly, had great comedic timing and was the perfect hype man to start guests journey on the night. Look forward to working with him again."
Terence Smith, Events Manager, Known Associates

Questions I get asked

Can you keep it clean?

Yes. I perform regularly at family festivals, schools and community events as well as adult rooms, and I match the material to the audience. Tell me the room and I'll pitch it right.

What do you need from the venue?

For up to 150 people, nothing but power and a space, because I bring the sound. For bigger rooms, a microphone, a sound system suited to the venue and music playback, which almost every function venue already has.

What happens if the night runs late?

It usually does, and it isn't a problem. If I'm MC I absorb it and keep the room with me. If I'm performing a set, I'll flex the length on the night rather than hold up your schedule.

How far ahead should we book?

Whenever suits you. If I'm free, I'll do it, including short notice. December fills up fastest, so it's worth asking early for that one, but always ask regardless of the date.

Can you do more than one thing on the same night?

Yes, and plenty of events do. Roving on arrival then MC through dinner is a common combination, as is hosting the awards and closing with a headline set.

Do you travel?

Yes. Regularly across regional WA and to mine sites, and available interstate and overseas. Travel is quoted with the booking and sites usually arrange flights and accommodation themselves.

Tell me about your event

Send through the date, the venue and roughly who's in the room, and I'll come back with what I'd suggest and a quote.
